Our client is a growing start-up focused on innovating and advocating for women’s pelvic health. The company strives to normalize the conversation about women’s pelvic health, provide novel solutions in a vastly underserved market and empower women to protect and restore their pelvic health. Our client currently has 1 product in development which focuses on preventing pelvic injuries during childbirth and 1 product commercialized. The company is currently a company-in-residence at Fogarty Innovation, working alongside several other start-ups in the healthcare industry and benefiting from the peer-to-peer collaboration, and guidance and experience from the exceptional Fogarty Innovation staff.

As the SEM/SEO Manager, you will play a fundamental role in supporting the Head of Marketing across numerous SEM/SEO initiatives. You will be responsible for helping expand and enhance our eCommerce channel to scale our product’s business through a data-driven approach. This position will report to the Head of Marketing, and provide the opportunity to work with different partners, inside and outside the organization. The SEM/SEO manager will assist in key efforts that help drive brand awareness, growth and engagement through the various platforms and channels, that enable people to buy our product, to get educated and trained. The right person for this role has excellent project management skills, is detail-oriented and organized. This person will also have a strong ability to multitask, prioritize and handle multiple projects at a time.



Search Engine Marketing (SEM) / Pay-Per-Click (PPC)

  • Built out and expand Search Engine Marketing/PPC/Paid Search and manage across channels based on data insights and business strategy.

  • Maintain existing campaigns and create, test, and manage new campaigns promoting our product.

  • Manage keyword research/buildouts, A/B testing, bid management, landing page selection, and campaign optimization. 

  • Perform regular A/B tests to discover which web/landing pages, which price points, which ads, messaging etc. perform best.

  • Develop paid search and retargeting programs, including planning, budget, strategy, and reporting. 

  • Perform keyword analysis, utilizing trending tools and supporting wider Marketing team.

  • Target potential customers throughout their digital journey and deliver against KPIs. Test, explore and discover which messages resonate best with each audience.

  • Test new ad copy and landing pages to boost customer experience and conversion.

  • Manage content activation across multiple channels, ensuring proper tracking. 

  • Manage paid search campaigns across multiple search engines to meet ROI objectives.

  • Collaborate with Marketing team to optimize reach and visibility via mobile and web and identify technical business requirements related to search marketing.

  • Track full-cycle execution of user acquisition campaigns that support growth initiatives across all digital channels.

  • Monitor and report on daily performance metrics highlighting organic, direct and paid search performance, including impressions, CPA, and conversion.

  • Develop and manage detailed campaign and business intelligence reports to ensure efficient workflow and provide recommendations and insights.

  • Monitor and assess campaign impact and success through keyword research and optimizations, competitive analysis, and A/B multivariate testing.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)​

  • Evaluate the search engine friendliness of our product’s website in all areas (full site crawl, identify crawl errors; gauge mobile friendliness, page load speed, indexation, metadata, broken links, site architecture, etc.).

  • Work with web master to implement SEO requirements (including on-page optimizations, internal linking, Sitemaps, Robots.txt).

  • Refresh, augment and compile keyword and audience research data. Organize keywords according to query semantics. Tag keywords into hierarchical groups. Align with SEM keyword bid strategy.

  • Build-out Semrush account: setup rank tracking, analyze current rankings and tag top competitors. 

  • Identify top SEO competitors. Analyze top competitor websites and digital strategies for initial insights.

  • Identify top relevant keywords that drive traffic to our competitors, but not to our site. Identify the "hardest working" (top traffic driving) content for our competitors.

  • Analyze Google Organic results for defined keyword landscape and seek opportunities. Identify the aggregators, search engines, directories, and apps that own the most organic market share and determine tactics to appear on them.

  • Analyze performance in Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Semrush. Provide report with summary analysis of insights. Compare keyword rankings and Organic traffic vs previous quarters and years.

  • Determine the biggest opportunities for Content Marketing. Define pillar and cluster topics. Collaborate with team to identify and prioritize content topics.

  • Consult with the team on new content to define target keywords and internal linking opportunities.

  • Analyze product and competitor brand mentions and backlinks. Identify, qualify, and prioritize opportunities. Create action plan and provide process education and guidance for outreach.

  • Use our Google Data Studio dashboard, combining Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads and Semrush, for analysis of all SEO/SEM KPIs. 


  • 5+ years' experience and proven results across all aspects of SEM/PPC and SEO.

  • Previous expertise working with US markets with highly competitive keywords required.

  • Native or Fluent English written and verbal skills.

  • Understanding of customer journeys and retention, acquisition, and engagement.

  • Strong analytical skills to track, report and analyze changes in SEM and SEO performance.

  • Expert user of Google Ads, Analytics, Google Search Console, and 3rd party SEO tools. 

  • Experience in a highly regulated environment, where we are limited by content choices and how we can tell our story.


  • Previous experience in a similar role.

  • Able to prioritize projects against deadlines and respond with urgency.

  • Collaborative and team-oriented. 

  • Deeply analytical and highly proficient with SEM/SEO tools and Microsoft Office suite.
